Summary
A great opportunity has arisen for a QHSE Manager (Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental Manager to join a well-established company based in Caerphilly, South Wales. The organisation has a number of sites across the UK, employing over 200 members of staff across a number of divisions. The QHSE role will be based at their Caerphilly site however travelling to other sites may be required. The role is a days’ based position working Monday-Friday office hours.

 

The Role
Reporting into the Company Directors, you will have general responsibility for managing the Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental systems and procedures, ensuring compliance with legislation, company policies and 3rd party certification as appropriate
Quality duties will include:

  • Develop processes and procedures in line with ISO9001.
  • Assist and support other departments with all Quality Assurance requirements including Works Instructions, Control Plans and Process Maps.
  • Ensure Testing, Inspection and reporting processes and procedures are developed, implemented and adhered to.
  • Develop Customer specifications where requested.
  • Ensure Customer specifications are communicated to relevant departments and complied with throughout all processes.
  • Carry out inspection of potential defects at Customer premises or on site as a result of a Customer return.
  • Develop and implement corrective and preventative action plans.
  • Carry out supplier audits and assessments of both approved and new suppliers to assist Purchasing with Supplier Development.
  • Collate, analyse and report Quality data as required.

Health & Safety and Environmental duties will include:

  • Develop and maintain the companies Health & Safety and Environmental policies.• Advise the company on any Environmental and Health & Safety issues on an ongoing basis.
  • Carry out Risk Assessments, Accident Investigations and Health & Safety Audits.
  • Coordinate health screening activities for relevant employees.
  • Ensure all fire prevention equipment is maintained and serviced and relevant procedures implemented and adhered to.
  • Develop systems and procedures in line with BS EN ISO 14001.
  • Develop and review procedures, processes and work instructions to ensure that HSE requirements are taken into account including COSHH regulations.
  • Liaise with Department Managers and Directors to ensure best working practices are developed, implemented and complied with.
  • Carry out regular monitoring of all emissions and chemical usage to ensure compliance with HSE, Environmental and IPPC standards and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain records to ensure that the company complies with Packaging Waste Regulations.
  • Develop and implement systems and procedures to ensure that the company complies with REACH regulations.

  • Prioritise workload and manage time effectively.
  • Literate and numerate.
  • NEBOSH / IOSH Qualified
  • Full UK Driving Licence is required for this role.
