Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Payroll Officer / HR Officer / Employee Benefits Officer to join a well-established, progressive manufacturer based in Cwmbran, South Wales. The company have a growing product base which is supplied to various companies throughout the UK.

 

The Role
Reporting into the HR Manager, you will be responsible for hourly and salaried payrolls for the site in Cwmbran and another site, dealing with the administration and management of a range of employee benefits.
Overview of the role:

  • To prepare, trial and finalise payroll runs timely and accurately to ensure on-time payment of wages and salary for each pay period in strict accordance with company financial accounting, related HR policies and statutory and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • To manage associated payroll reporting requirements and pay and benefits within financial controls, period-end timelines and maintain effective working relationships with key FSS contacts.
  • Reviewing all current payroll process to recommend changes and efficiency improvements to achieve best in class standards.
  • Administration of a range of local employee benefit programmes including reporting requirements and the day-to-day relationship management of outsourced service providers and benefit provision.
  • Carryout HR duties and activities assigned by the HR manager to support the HR Team, delivery of HR service to the business and HR and business development projects.

Duties will include:

  • Administer end-to-end payroll build and transaction processes timely and accurately
  • Draw down data from the company’s time and attendance system to build and effect weekly and monthly payrolls
  • Manage outsourced payroll provider services to ensure on time payment of wages and salaries
  • Prepare and effect all payroll transactions and necessary reports to ensure compliance with HMRC real time reporting
  • Preparation and posting of all HMRC reporting forms and notifications such as P45, P46 and tax year end P11D, P60 and PSA’s
  • Oversee the administration and payment of company and employee pension contributions; administer starter and leaver transactions; pension auto enrolment
  • Work with HR colleagues to reconcile weekly\monthly sickness and sick pay entitlements
  • Prepare and publish annual gender pay gap analysis and reporting
  • Prepare half yearly and annual benefit cost summary for Global C&B analysis and reporting
  • Administer company car scheme and all associated support services including driver support services; main contact for scheme provider
  • Prepare and collate data for a range of general HR statistics reporting requirements

 

The Candidate

  • Recognised Payroll qualification\competency through certificated training programme
  • CIPD accreditation\qualification – may ben study and partly accredited to the current CIPD accreditation levels; alternatively, may be part qualified CIMA\ACCA
  • General education to A level standard or equivalent such as certificate\diploma in business administration

 

Experience

  • Established previous experience in a payroll function; preferably from within a multi-payroll\multi-site organisation
  • Fully conversant with PAYE and all related HMRC and governmental reporting requirements and regulatory controls
  • Fully conversant with the rules and requirements of SSP, SMP and other statutory payments through payroll
