Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Supervisor / Technical Team Leader to join a well-established food producer who is a leader in their sector; supplying major retailers throughout the UK and internationally. The organisation invests in its employees and progression within the company should be expected. The role is a days’ based position working Monday-Friday in their Powys site.
The Role
Reporting into the Technical Manager, you will be responsible for leading team of around 8 within the technical department. This role is a within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained.
Ideally, you will have strong knowledge of BRC and UK retailer's technical requirements.
Duties will include:
- Ensuring all aspects of production process are adhered to the required quality standards with relevant legislation, product specification, customer requirements and HACCP procedures as detailed by the Food Safety and Quality Management System
- Overseeing and implementing all technical aspects of the process to meet the needs of the manufacturer and its customers and meet all requirements for legality, quality and food safety
- Ensuring BRC Global Standards for Food Safety certification are maintained and up to date
- Managing the organisations BRC audit and undertaking any corrective actions required to ensure that non-conformances are identified at the audit
- Day to day management of Quality Assurance to implement the contents of the HACCP and Food Safety and Quality Procedures
- Liaising with production and other departments to provide continuous improvement of product quality
- Liaising with suppliers and customers and third parties
- Carrying out periodic audits as required and contribute to the control of technical services
- Ensuring customer procedures are adhered to and the necessary information is provided
- Reviewing and developing the personnel needs of the technical team
- Providing technical KPI reports
- Budget control of technical contract services
- Participate as a member of the senior management team
The Candidate
- Food Science Degree or equivalent (desirable)
- Qualification / knowledge in HACCP and its standards
- Experience of having Multi - Customer responsibility
- Working understanding of microbiological standards
