Overview

Process Engineer role (recruiting an Electrical and a Mechanical), working Monday-Friday 08:30-17:00 with an early finish of 13:30 every Friday!

Working within a small team, you will provide mechanical or electrical engineering support for current products, to enhance productivity, reliability and continuity of performance and build.

 

The Role

  • Participate in the investigation of system problems arising from testing, acceptance or operational use in the field.
  • Generate build documentation and parts lists to enable the purchasing department and manufacturing department to order parts and build products / machines.
  • Liaise with relevant contractors and sub-contractors to ensure correct design, test of parts to ensure they meet Spectrum requirements.
  • Interface with electrical suppliers to ensure the most cost effective solutions are found.
  • High level support and fault finding for the manufacturing processes.
  • Generation of detailed SOP’s and work instructions for the Assembly & Test processes.
  • BOM creation and control.
  • Discussing and solving complex problems with customers, internal departments, sub-contractors and suppliers, considering the implications of issues such as cost, safety and time constraints.
  • Support for Purchasing with supplier non-conformance, concessions and resourcing.
  • Generation of data pack for supplier quotation/outsourcing.
  • Manufacturing support for NPI.

The Person

  • The ideal candidate will be qualified to degree/HNC level in Engineering
  • The candidate will have a minimum 2~3 years’ experience in a process/technical support environment.
  • The candidate will have a strong electrical /controls / automation engineering or experience in a toolmaking environment with hands on experience of machining and fabrication.
  • Knowledge and experience of working within a formal ECN process to maintain clear and accurate records of changes within drawings.
  • Experience of ePLAN / Autodesk
  • Advantageous but not essential if have experience of robotics and vision systems, practical experience of electrical builds and use of diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to manage time and resources and prioritise tasks based on a dynamic project based environment.
  • Strong verbal and precise written communications skills to engage with internal and external contacts, effectively gather information and express instructions clearly.
