Overview
Working 4 on 4 off (5am-5pm).
The Role
To carry out ongoing preventative and emergency maintenance work throughout the site in conjunction with the requirements of the Company.
Duties:
- Daily visual equipment check for production line machinery including: hand power tools, power packs, gearboxes and drives, rise/fall platforms etc.
- Carry out regular and ongoing electrical maintenance including lighting, starter motors etc.
- Generally assist operations and office staff with requests for maintenance repairs;
- Carry out tasks on maintenance repair list in priority order;
- Complete works as detailed in Managers maintenance request sheets;
- Attending and resolving emergency breakdowns as they occur, working to get equipment serviceable in a timely manner;
- Installation and commissioning of equipment, network cabling, rewiring, phone line maintenance;
- Assist with carrying out general building maintenance including;
- Gates, rails, mesh flooring, general household maintenance such as lightbulbs, washers etc., fridges, switches and rail work, general welding repairs.
The Person
- Qualified to 18th Edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations BS 7671:2018
- Good practical skills and a common-sense approach.
- The ability to work under extreme pressure if, for example, an entire production line is shut down, and a willingness to work unsociable hours when required
- The tact, diplomacy and sense of humour required to deal with people in stressful situations and provide confident assurance
- Self-confidence and ability to work independently or as a member of a team
