Overseeing the Goods In & Warehouse function, you be responsible for receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, organising, and retrieving stock in the warehouse. Overseeing regular stock takes and being involved in stock control. Working collaboratively with our Bristol site.

You will ensure the timely and accurate completion of documentation and be responsible for the storage and issuing of materials to the factory and raw order production. In addition, you will ensure that the goods in areas meet the company’s health and safety standards, that staff conducts themselves in a safe and professional manner, ensure correct and full stock is captured, supervise the receiving of goods, and ensure sufficient staffing levels, overseeing stock rotation, ensure that all documentation and labelling of the goods is carried out to the current procedures and closely monitor the working of the team to achieve 100% efficiency and bring improvements to increase the performance.

Other duties include:

  • Maintain discipline using performance reviews and where necessary disciplinary action
  • The development of all employees; encouraging continued good performance by motivation and praise
  • Picking, packing and shipping of all goods in accordance with company procedure
  • Liaising with transport companies to ensure the safe loading of all goods onto collection vehicles
  • Responsible for maintaining enough stock levels of all packaging and packing equipment
  • Use company WMS to book goods out of stock
  • Move and rearrange stock, either by hand or with heavy lifting equipment
  • Keep careful records of everything that goes out of the warehouse
  • Use of company vehicle(s) to deliver orders to customers
  • Keep a clean work area
  • Ensure that goods do not get damaged while processing their dispatch
  • Work with the rest of the Operations team to ensure that all daily tasks are completed
  • Assist with ‘Goods Out’ with the receipt of goods during busy periods
  • Stock cycle counting

Required experience:

  • 2 years’ experience in a supervisory role within food manufacturing; preferably within a chilled environment.
  • You will have demonstrable knowledge of supervising and motivating people, in-depth working knowledge of goods-in functions
  • Basic Food Hygiene, Basic Health & Safety and Manual Handling certificates/training
  • Excellent communication skills, strong leadership & ability to drive a team’s performance
  • Ability to demonstrate strong people leadership skills and motivator, who can build effective and engage teams
  • Excellent listening and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
