Overview

We are currently recruiting a Technical / Quality Manager for a food manufacturer who are based in Gwent, South Wales.

 

The Role

  • Prepare, maintain and update Company protocols to reflect Industry best practice and legislative changes.
  • Internal auditing system management, to ensure audits against site schedules and customer standards and COP’s are completed and where applicable closed to route cause
  • Strong ability in procedure writing and implementation.
  • Management of Quality systems, completion of QAS’s.
  • Document control and system management.
  • Deliver compliance training to employees as required.
  • Prepare compliance activity reports and relevant supporting documentation for audit purposes; Ensure that the site is always audit ready
  • Day to day management of Quality functions and team
  • HACCP team member
  • Manage and implement Policy and Technical standards in line with regulatory and customer requirements
  • Monitor the effectiveness of the operation through the analysis of customer complaints, accreditation status, microbial monitoring performance, reports etc.
  • Ensure that the company is kept aware of legislative & Customer constraints on the business and any standards in terms of quality control and assurance are adhered to
  • Liaise with suppliers on quality concerns
  • Sending ingredients and finished product for microbial testing, receiving the results, taking appropriate action on any OOS results, escalation process and corrective action follow up. Filing of all test results on to the sites system for reference.
  • Any project work that is deemed appropriate for the team and business needs
  • Other reasonable requests/duties as and when requested by your manager to suit business requirements
  • To investigate product quality issues, identifying the root cause for the issue and then providing direction to overcome the problem.
  • To identify non conformities and trends from reports provided by the QA department. Actioning out of specification results and determining corrective actions required to progress standards, actioning recall or hold of finished product, WIP or raw material.
  • To further development the culture across the operational and technical functions through training, development and coaching programmes and thus engendering a high performance environment
  • To maintain regular GMP audits and corrective actions for site.  Review actions completed and determine what good looks like.
  • To support sites in preparation and during TSO, EHO and key customer visits.
  • To ensure compliance to the BRC standard to ensure that the policies and procedures meet the business’ legal responsibilities. Drive continuous quality improvement for our customers and collate site information for feedback.
