Overview

We are currently recruiting a Quality Projects Manager for a manufacturer who are based in Port Talbot.

This role is on a contract basis (around 3 months).  You can expect to achieve a salary of up to £50,000 depending upon experience.

 

The Role

Reporting into the Business Technical Manager & Site Director, you will be leading the sites’ Quality Assurance Projects ensuring compliance to legal, customer & accreditation requirements.  You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance matters are dealt with effectively, the site Quality System is maintained and improvements are instigated with a continuous improvement culture.

Duties:

  • Leading quality improvement activities
  • Provide the ability to collate & analyse data resulting in improvement projects and programmes that eliminate waste and/or risk.
  • Application of strategies to increase process adherence and compliance across manufacturing, stores, and inspection areas.
  • Data analysis to identify quality trends and improvement opportunities
  • Monitoring of quality performance and control of non-compliance incidents
  • Appraisal to identify root causes
  • Market data analysis
  • Countermeasure verification and implementation
  • Co-ordinate Technical Investigations (of a wide variety of products) and review engineer’s reports
  • In Process Quality Auditing (creation & control)
  • Design of suitable end of line quality checks

 

The Person:

  • Personal competency skills such as leadership, communication and decision making
  • Self-motivated and a strong sense of responsibility
  • Eagerness to develop new skills, and demonstrate flexibility in order to support the operation where required
  • Confidence to communicate and present at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Project leading a team of people
  • Ability to solve complex problems, in a structured manner
  • HND level or equivalent in a technical discipline is anticipated, however other relevant experience or qualifications will be considered
  • An understanding of the principles of Six Sigma analysis
  • Good understanding of what makes a good process and be able to document
