Overview
An exciting opportunity has opened for an experienced Operations / Production Manager to join a well-established, food manufacturer.
You can expect to achieve a salary of up to £44,000 working a three shift pattern of mornings, afternoons & nights Monday-Friday rotating on a weekly basis.
The Role
On the whole, you will be managing all operations. You will also manage staff, productivity, safety measures and quality effectively.
Our client is looking for an individual who is able to develop a large team ensuring HS&E requirements are adhered to and maintained, CI and modern manufacturing principles are implemented and managed by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes.
Duties will include:
• Accomplish operations and organization mission by completing related results as needed
• Develop operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements; develop, implement, enforce and evaluate policies and procedures; develop processes for receiving product, equipment utilization, inventory management and logistics.
• Analyze process workflow, employee and space requirements and equipment layout; implement changes
• Recruit, select, train, assign, schedule, coach, counsel and discipline employees
• Contribute operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; implement production, productivity, quality standards; resolve problems; complete audits; identify trends
• Communicate job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising and reviewing job contributions
• Forecast requirements; prepare an annual budget; schedule expenditures; analyze variances; initiating corrective actions
• Monitor the production processes and adjust schedules as needed.
• Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
• Meet or exceed operations labour budget expectations
The Person
• Experience in management, operations, and leadership.
• Experience in running busy FMCG department
• NEBOSH or equivalent desirable
• Level 3 HACCP Food Manufacturing
• Green belt in Six Sigma desirable
• Ability to use lean tools, fish bone, brown paper RCA etc.
• To be able with the senior team to determine values and mission, and plan for short and long-term goals.
• Ability to build consensus and relationships among managers and employees.
• Excellent communication skills.
