An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Despatch Co-Ordinator to join a fun, quirky manufacturer who are based in Bedwas, Caerphilly.
The company have a growing product base which is supplied to various companies throughout the UK.
The role is a days’ based position working Monday-Friday office hours (08:15 - 17:00 Monday-Thursday and 08:15 - 16:00 Friday).
The Role
- Liaising with production planner and checking the production programme each morning in order to arrange the despatch of orders that are due for out shipping and using supplier portals for booking orders on. This is for both parcels and pallets.
- Liaising with customers/warehouses in order to book goods in and adhering to their booking procedures.
- Obtaining quotes for shipping which can be anywhere in the world.
- Preparing delivery labels/paperwork
The Candidate
- Previous experience within freight forwarding preferred (both pallets and parcels)
- Strong understanding of multi-modal transport (Air, Road, Sea)
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to multi-task with strong organisational skills
- Able to work under pressure and sometimes without supervision
- A positive and energetic approach to work
- Responsible for booking in deliveries on behalf of customers
- Use supplier online portals to book freight/consignments and track deliveries
- Liaise with production staff to ensure goods are despatched in a timely manner
- Negotiate with Hauliers/Couriers to obtain best possible costs for shipping
