Summary
We’re currently recruiting an Engineer / Technician (mechanical or electrical bias) for a manufacturer based in Caerphilly. The role is based on working a three shift pattern of mornings, afternoons and nights, offering a salary of £29.9k. You will be working in the forming area on shift and will ideally be C&G apprentice trained in engineering. You will require good machine setting skills, pneumatic experience etc.
The Role
Reporting into the Engineering Manager, you will:
- Maximise the department machines' output and maintain the manufacturing processes within the designed specification.
- Work with other team members to continuously improve manufacturing performance.
Duties will include:
- Provision of engineering and operational support to a manufacturing area.
- Machine setting, in order to achieve product specification and performance.
- Maintenance of automated inspection systems.
- Fault finding and corrective action.
- Machine inspection.
- Responding to minor breakdowns.
- Preventative maintenance.
- Major breakdowns.
- Preparation of sub-assembly.
- Other tasks as reasonably requested by the Manager.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will have:
- A formal qualification in appropriate subject ONC / HNC, BTEC / City and Guilds in an Engineering Discipline / apprenticeship.
- Knowledge of high speed and / or packing machines / food processing / paper.
- Machine setting.
- Fault finding and problem solving.
- Mechanics, electrics, plc, pneumatics.
