Summary
A great opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Engineer to join a well-established, food manufacturer who are a leader in their field. The company have a growing product base which is supplied to various retailers throughout the UK. This is a perfect opportunity for someone who is looking to progress within a fast-developing company.
The role is a based on working an afternoon shift pattern of 14:00 – 22:00 Monday to Friday and will be based at their site in Rhondda Cynnon Taff, South Wales.

The Role
Reporting into the Engineering Manager, you will:

• Act as an assistant to the engineering manager, to support the Maintenance and Engineering function of the company ensuring that all machinery, equipment and buildings are able to continuously meet the demands of the business.
• To assist with the maintenance all plant, machinery and equipment so as to ensure complete availability to meet business demands at all times.
• To ensure that equipment is left at the end of each shift so that it is ready for the following days production.
• To assist with the planned maintenance schedule for all machinery and equipment.
• In conjunction with the Engineering Manager, to carry out regular and routine site checks including plant rooms, all site structures, car park and the internal and external fabric of all buildings. Carry out routine repairs and maintenance to limit the need for major repairs and external contractor costs.

  • Engineering Manager
  • Operations Manager
  • All site Managers
  • All other levels as appropriate
  • Inter-Company personnel as appropriate.
  • Customers and supplier
  • External agencies/contractors as appropriate.
