Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Multi Skilled Engineer to join a well-established, progressive manufacturer based in Tredegar, South Wales. The company have a growing product base which is supplied to various companies throughout the UK. The role is a weekend shift working 7am – 7pm Friday – Sunday (36 hours).

The Role
Reporting into the Maintenance Manager, duties will include:

  • Participate in engineering focused activities in support of manufacturing plant and equipment performance KPI’s
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects
  • Support sites technical issue resolution and completion of improvement actions through good engineering practices and guidance
  • Identify and share best practice and contribute to raising awareness, improving performance and transitioning to a pro-active engineering culture
  • Carrying out preventative maintenance, working to schedule
  • Completion of reactive maintenance work when machinery breaks down to ensure impact to line efficiencies is minimized
  • Team working on site development projects
  • Ensure high standards of engineering workmanship across the site
  • Contribute to the development of existing and new standards for key items of equipment and facilities
  • Lead high standards of safety practices across the business
  • Complete routine tasks without being prompted including any other duties relating to your role

The Candidate

  • A time served appropriate apprenticeship
  • Experienced multi-skilled maintenance engineer / technician
  • Minimum technical qualification of O.N.C. in an electrical discipline
  • Ability to demonstrate skills in fault finding / repairs on both conventional and P.L.C. control systems
  • Ability to work unsupervised, resolving equipment breakdowns immediately
  • Knowledge of Siemens S5 & S7, Six Sigma, Kaizen protocol would be a distinct advantage
  • Basic understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, fabrication, welding press & injection moulding is desirable
