Summary
A rapidly expanding manufacturer of high quality fresh food products is seeking a Chilled Picking Warehouse Supervisor to join their establishment at their state of the art factory in Bristol. They’re seeking an individual who is able to work a Sunday – Thursday afternoon shift.
You can expect to achieve a salary of up to £30,000.
The Role:
The Warehouse Supervisor will supervise the Warehouse on a day to day basis, being the first point of contact for any issues arising. Duties will include:
- Supporting the Warehouse Manager with the day to day activities of the Warehouse.
- Ensure best practices are adhered to at all times, whilst maintaining excellent service levels.
- Oversee and supervise the team’s performance and work load to ensure that targets are met in a safe and productive manner.
- Ensure that all metrics and measures are continuously monitored in order to develop effective contingency planning, issue resolution and escalation management.
- Ensure that the teams are fully trained and performing in line with their job specification, compliant with company quality, Food Safety Legislation, BRC and health and safety policy.
- Identify and train deputies to cover for periods of absence.
- Daily reporting requirements and scheduling as necessary.
- Develop and maintain effective local working relationships within the framework of the company’s procedure agreements and associated policies.
- Audit compliance, infringements and returns are all dealt with in a time manner.
- Take responsibility for shift Health and Safety issues in conjunction with company Health and Safety guidelines.
- Develop a culture of continuous improvement.
- Work closely with the despatch team to ensure the timely and accurate fulfilment of customer orders.
- Ensure target levels are met in full and report any service issues to Warehouse Manager
- You will be working within a chilled environment.
The Person:
- Strong Warehouse background coupled with supervisory experience within a FMCG environment (ideally food manufacturing).
- Previous people-management experience.
- Problem solving and planning effective contingencies and solutions.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work on your own initiative well organised to prioritise your workload.
- Flexible, can do attitude approach to work.
- Ability to communicate confidently at all levels.
- Motivating and driving teams.
- Proven relationship management and excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Analysing and mining productivity reports that assist with managing performance.
- Experience of lean manufacturing & continuous improvement techniques (desirable)
