The Role

Ensure that all production is completed on time and in full, maximising the efficiency of production facilities at all times. To ensure that the facility and Production Colleagues meet all the requirements of BRC audits, to drive and lead the Production Teams development

 

Responsibilities

  • Focus on driving day to day performance through a strategic approach.
  • You will assist in the Strategic planning of the Production Facility and in setting KPI’s
  • Maximising the sales capacity through the strategic use of third party packers to cope with season peaks
  • Develop close working relationships to ensure we maintain the KPI’s agreed for cost, quality and service set by ourselves and our customers
  • Keep abreast of new and innovative packaging types that could add unique or innovative approaches for our customers
  • Accompany customers on visits to the site
  • Build a rapport with our customers through the attendance of appropriate meetings and visits to our site
  • Ensure we have up to date Guides to Production documentation for all products
  • Manage the Cleaning team
  • Decrease / eradicate all non-value added activities
  • Ensure all customer quality and labelling requirements are adhered to
  • To prepare, analyse and forecast departmental budgets and track and control expenditure
  • The role requires the effective analysis of data to identify and resolve issues
  • The Factory Manager should have sufficient knowledge of ERP systems

 

The Person

  • At least 5 years' experience of working within the food industry in a similar role.
  • Experience of working within a Production environment serving Retailers, Multiples and Wholesale customers
  • Demonstrate knowledge in the analysis of yields, labour efficiency and productivity with a clear understanding of their financial impact on the bottom line.
  • Experience of working with an ERP system such as Foodware, Oracle or SAP.
  • Experience of organising and prioritising a demanding workload
  • Knowledge of a short shelf life, fast moving food category
  • Good working Knowledge of the UK Supermarket sector
  • Ability to produce accurate work to tight deadlines under pressure
