The Role
Reporting into the Engineering Director, the main purpose of the role is to support the new product development process from research and development through to its launch.
The Design Engineer will provide mechanical design expertise / skills and effective solutions for the development of new products; this will range from the design of individual components, electro mechanical and varied mechanical systems, integrated multi axis robot handling systems through to complex turnkey solutions. Additionally, undertaking a project management role where required.

 

Experience

  • A strong technical background in engineering qualified to degree level in either; Mechanical Engineering, Engineering science, Manufacturing engineering or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a product development environment, ideally have experience in the following areas; AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor.
  • A high level of technical knowledge with the ability to apply this knowledge to practical problems.
  • IT skills, particularly computer-aided design (Autodesk Inventor).
  • Creative ability.
  • The ability to work well in a team and under pressure.
  • Ability to read and evaluate both mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Organisational skills, such as time and resource planning
  • Precise and concise written communication skills

This role would suit a mechanical design engineer, design engineer, CAD Engineer, Autodesk Engineer, AutoCAD Engineer, Inventor Engineer etc.
