Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join a well-established, progressive food manufacturer based in South Wales. The company have been (and continue!) to grow at a steady pace. They have a wide product range which is supplied to various retailers throughout the UK. The role is a days’ based position working Monday-Friday.
The Role
The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for a team of two Engineers, driving improvements in performance of assets within the designated area. You will be technically supporting the shift management team and developing the technical skills within the engineering teams.
Duties will include:
- Demonstrate effective technical skills to support the manufacturing operation.
- Operate in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, departmental procedures, company policy and GMP.
- Work as part of a team whilst leading a team of two engineers to ensure targets for delivery, quality and efficiency are met.
- Implement planned and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Communicate problems and issues which impact manufacturing schedules or maintenance plans.
- To support the shift management team with engineering advice and breakdown support.
- To work proactively with the shift management team to identify opportunities for improvement in plant performance, process and procedures.
- To work with the shift managers to develop an open performance culture of pro-activity within the operations area.
- To develop their shift engineers to provide proactive service levels and deliver target or better kpi’s.
- Develop detailed annual maintenance plans including resources, durations and methodologies that support the achievement of operational objectives.
- To work with the shift management team to identify training needs and develop training plans for operators to ensure that operational objectives can be fully realised.
- To mentor and coach two Engineers.
- To act as ‘duty holder’ for the maintenance of engineering documentation, drawings and equipment history for the assets.
- To communicate and review planned maintenance requirements, to make possible implementation of the plan and to monitor and report on achievement.
- To ensure that all engineering work including that by contractors is managed in line with health and safety legislation, local procedures and current standards.
- To manage engineering work to ensure the standards of GMP, Food Safety, Hygiene and Quality are maintained.
The Candidate
- Training, education or apprenticeship in and electrical engineering discipline
- Carrying out electrical fault finding, repairs and installation work.
- Working with and fault finding on PLC controlled systems, specifically Siemens
- Working on facilities, maintenance and routine checks, carrying out regular fire system tests etc.
- Computer systems within a production environment.
- Comfortable with working in a fast-paced environment.
