Summary:
Reporting to the site quality manager, the role will be responsible and accountable for daily monitoring of process quality performance on the specific site.
Essential functions:
- Daily activities to confirm that Quality records, manufacturing documentation and control plan data are being completed and maintained in accordance with requirements.
- Responsible for daily activities that support product release at stage including daily reporting and communication.
- Control the Quality of all product types through all stages at the specific site.
- Communicate Quality alerts and support Quality Stand downs.
- To investigate and action non-standards including sub-contractors.
- Facilitate all necessary MRB activities to disposition material.
- Support root cause analysis for major non-standard events and instigate actions as part of the regular area non-standards meetings
- Regularly confirm process control and machine capabilities using SOP’s, control plans and diagnostics to confirm daily process adherence including supporting any relevant updates to Standard operating practices.
- Aid in the training and competence assessment process of All Inspection and Special processes activities as required.
- Support site Zero Defects Process and yield activities
- To maintain and improve the current calibration control system for all measuring equipment including mentoring and training of operators
- Support final product release/certification in close out of Non-standard issues and actions.
KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATION/EDUCATION:
- HND or equivalent in materials science/engineering
- Ideally, Titanium Metallurgy experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft software packages-word, excel, power point
- Problem solving skills
- Route cause analysis / 8D techniques
- Process FMEA/Control Plan experience.
- Nadcap Special Process knowledge/experience and advantage
EXPERIENCE:
- Demonstrated manufacturing and technical experience within a metals manufacturing industry.
- Experience in Aerospace and/or titanium manufacturing would be a distinct advantage
