The Role

  • The Purchasing Manager will be directly involved in the sourcing and purchasing of products and services to achieve a cost saving plan
  • Project Management of several topics
  • To lead and manage VAVE (Value Analysis Value Engineering) to achieve budgeted targets and introduce additional projects as required to ensure annual saving targets are met.
  • To lead and manage ECR (Engineering Change Request) linked to purchasing action or supplier modification.
  • Responsible for reporting to Central Purchasing organisation both updating reports and participating in regular meetings.
  • Responsible of and tracking the performance plan in accordance to the purchasing budgeted objectives.
  • You will be involved in sourcing suppliers, contract drafting, negotiation and managing suppliers through the whole procurement process.
  • Administration of all purchasing areas within SAP and internal systems.
  • Overall responsibility for both Direct & Indirect suppliers.
  • Creation of purchase orders and schedules within SAP

 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research to source the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality
  • Run tenders, evaluate bids and make recommendations, based on commercial and technical factors
  • Negotiate, execute and monitor contractual agreements with key suppliers
  • Keep contract files and use them as reference for the future
  • Build and maintain good relationships with new and existing suppliers
  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to interact unsupervised with clients, suppliers & internal stakeholders
  • Develop strategies to make sure that cost savings and supplier performance targets are met.
  • Attend and chair meetings with both Local and Central stakeholders
  • Keep up to date with trends and innovations, regulation and new technology that can impact on the business
  • Provide escalation support to colleagues in procurement to resolve supply issues.

 

Person Spec

  • Either a Purchasing or supply chain procurement qualification
  • Proven experience at senior level
  • Proven experience / background in Project Management
