GENERAL PURPOSE OF ROLE
- The Purchasing Controller will be directly involved in the sourcing and purchasing of products and services to achieve a cost saving plan
- You will be responsible for the whole purchasing report and action plan follow to ensure the result of the plant
- You will be involved in sourcing suppliers, contract drafting, negotiation and managing suppliers through the whole procurement process
- Administration of all purchasing areas within SAP
- Creation of purchase orders and schedules within SAP
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Forecast levels of demand for services and products
- Conduct research to source the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality
- Run tenders, evaluate bids and make recommendations, based on commercial and technical factors
- Negotiate and agree contracts, monitoring the quality of service provided
- Keep contract files and use them as reference for the future
- Build and maintain good relationships with new and existing suppliers
- Excellent communication skills, with ability to interact unsupervised with clients, suppliers & internal stakeholders
- Develop strategies to make sure that cost savings and supplier performance targets are met - or exceeded
- Undertake value for money reviews of existing contracts and arrangements
- Ensure the security and sustainability of sources of essential products and services
THE PERSON
- Experience of purchasing / supply chain
- Computer literate with good ability in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Good understanding SAP
- Excellent communication skills at all levels including presentation skills, active listening etc
- Be dedicated and self-directed
- Ability to teach and influence others
- Possess a positive customer service attitude
- Ability to interpret and understand complicated legislation and processes
Working hours are Mon-Thur 8:30-16:45, Friday is 8:30 to 14:30
