We are recruiting the above role and wondered if it might be of interest? It is with a well know manufacturer, working days Monday to Friday, overtime is paid at time and a half.

Overview:

We are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with good knowledge of machine operations and tools, along with knowledge in carrying out basic maintenance and safety checks for machinery. Electrical knowledge is not required but nice to have.

Main duties and responsibilities include:

  • Repairing machinery to keep them running efficiently and well maintained;
  • Carry out planned and preventative maintenance and routine scheduling servicing in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations, or internally determined procedures where these do not exist;
  • Fault finding during production and repairing machinery in a safe and timely manner to minimise downtime;
  • A small amount of fabrication work may be needed from time to time;
  • Assessing the need for spare parts and sourcing required parts in a timely and cost effective manner (or delegate this job to a work colleague if necessary);
  • Understand and assist where necessary with Health & Safety;
  • Undertake effective planning and prioritisation of workload wherever necessary;
  • Plan and implement any projects and improvements with the machinery alongside the maintenance team;
  • Driving and operating a Fork Lift Truck, when required, in a safe and efficient manor (in house training can be provided);
  • Understand and operate in line within relevant legislation, Company Policy and Company Procedures;
  • Complete and maintain accurate and timely documentation and reports as required;
  • Maintain the required standards of housekeeping;
  • Ensure work is carried out to the highest standard and in the interest of the company.
  • Support other teams and departments around you;
  • Undertake self-development activities as required by the business.
  • Assist with speaking with suppliers and Company Representatives in a kind and friendly manor;
  • Working alongside and giving instructions to outside Contractors working on site;
  • Carry out other reasonable requests made by the line manager to support departmental or company objectives.

The Role:

  • Monday to Friday – hours tbc
  • 2 Saturdays per month
  • 40 hours per week basic, plus overtime which is paid at time and a half.
