Production Supervisor, Dartmouth, Up to £35k

Overview:

We’re currently working with a successful food manufacturer who are hiring a Production Supervisor to join their friendly team in Dartmouth.  The role is based on working Monday: 07:00 – 17:00, T, W & TH: 07:30 – 15:00, Friday: 06:00 – 17:00.  You can expect to achieve a salary of up to £35k

 

The Role:

As Production Supervisor, you will oversee the efficient receipt and storage of raw materials for your areas. Ensuring your team follows the recipe of all products made in line with the company expectation whilst following and completing all HACCP documentation. Working collaboratively with each other you will ensure that your area delivers against timescales and to budget with the Shift Manager. You will be responsible for the safe, effective, and efficient management of staff and operations throughout the shift. As we’re a small team, you will have 100% responsibility for your area, which will include:

  • Record all daily production paperwork accurately
  • Supporting with production planning to forecast
  • Staff rota management
  • Uphold and implement company standards and policies in all areas (QMS, Food safety, Health & Safety). Identify areas of improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with the team and other support/process department teams.
  • Responsible for ensuring the team are trained and/supervised to company safe operating procedures.
  • Identify areas that can be improved – e.g. efficiency, waste reduction, reduce giveaway, better working methods and process, reduce hours, improve quality, reduce costs, improve working conditions, work safer.
  • To be instrumental in the company culture and long-term vision, embedding our vision, mission and values across everything we do.

 

The Person:

  • Experience in managing people including leading a team
    Have worked in a process FMCG environment
    Can demonstrate a sound understanding of the manufacturing process
    Literacy – clear report writing
    Analytical and problem-solving skills for breakdowns / quality /waste issues
    Understanding of HACCP
    Leads by example – e.g., behaviours, attitude etc – good personal skills
    Flexible
    Experience within bakery process and committed to learning
    Communication skills (both verbal and written)
    Decision making skills

 

  • Desirable:
    HACCP level 2/3
    Food Hygiene level 2/3
    First Aid at work
    Forklift licence
    Chef qualification City & Guilds 706/1, 706/2 or NVQ Catering Level 2 & 3
