The Role
Working a42 hour week, the shift pattern is two day shifts 7.00 am - 7.00 p.m.; followed by two days off and then three-night shifts 7.00 pm - 7.00 a.m. This will continue a rotating system throughout the year.
- The role of the Process Maintenance Engineer [PME] is to undertake preventive and reactive maintenance and whose main role is to provide a service to the production department
- The role requires the PME to be multi-skilled, and therefore competent to work safely on process dairy equipment comprising of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, instrumentation, control systems, CIP and steam systems.
- The PME also supports projects as and when required and may be requested to support projects for long durations.
Duties:
- To carry out preventive maintenance on all processes
- To carry out reactive maintenance either by breakdown of process or requested by a Senior Engineer.
- To carry out all works ‘Right First Time’
- To enter all relevant data into IFS Service and Maintenance providing accurate information of work done, time on the job, and parts used.
- To raise a permit to work or a hazard awareness form before commencing work to ensure all hazards that may cause a risk to health and safety are identified and reduced/eliminated.
- To lock off any process before commencing any invasive work that may create a H&S hazard.
- To work safely and report all H&S incidences as and when they occur.
- To use the engineering library to gain knowledge of equipment/processes.
- To carry out all works on site either in the workshops or on the shop floor working to the ‘Clean-as-you-go’ policy.
Experience:
- ONC Engineering or equivalent (minimum) in an electrical or mechanical discipline.
- Time served apprenticeship in an industrial environment
- 5 years’ experience in FMCG industry
