Production Supervisor, Gwynedd, Up to £37,500

Overview

We are currently recruiting Production Supervisors for a well-established food manufacturer who are based in Gwynedd.  There are two shift patterns available – one is permanent nights (10pm-6am Monday-Friday with a salary of up to £37,500) and the other is based on working 6am-2pm & 2pm-10pm Monday-Friday rotating weekly with a salary of up to £30,000.

 

The Role

To manage and control a production and packing team ensuring products are manufactured and packed to both factory and customer standards. To plan, manage, direct and review team resources within relevant areas to achieve performance targets and departmental objectives, using KPI’s and effective communication to focus team working and drive continuous improvement.

  • Responsibility for achievement of daily production targets, resources controlled to achieve this.
  • To ensure labour and materials are monitored in line with budgets, wastes improvements, escalated as required
  • Quality practices achieved against internal and external standards.
  • Responsibility for allocating work tasks & ordering required materials / material control.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all production, quality & hygiene documentation, ensuring standards in these areas are maintained.
  • Responsible for all daily safety checks and escalation as needed.
  • Effective problem solving and fault finding to reduce stoppage time and increase line performance
  • To manage the performance of the team including appraisals and immediate training plans
  • To effectively manage the initial stages of absence (inc the RTW process) and disciplinary issues, up to and including first stages of formal process and ensuring compliance to company procedures
  • To operate production equipment to deliver both output and quality objectives whilst at the same time ensuring legal compliance
  • To identify any Health and Safety issues within the area / team, maintaining a focus on risk reduction.
  • Support Site Manager as required
  • Effective communication between shifts and departments, concise factual details required.

 

The Person

  • Must have previous production experience
  • A reach truck license would be an advantage
  • Good knowledge of production processes
  • Demonstrable general knowledge of HACCP and Health and Safety
  • High standards of hygiene.
  • Flexible attitude pertaining to duties, days and hours worked.
  • Excellent written and numerical skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, as well as IT
