Summary 
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Production Technician to join a well-established, progressive manufacturer based in Bridgend, South Wales.  The company have a growing product base which is supplied to various companies throughout the UK.  The role is a days’ based position working Monday-Friday 08:30-17:00 with an early finish of 13:00 every Friday.

 

The Role
Reporting into the Production Manager, you will be working as part of a team undertaking the build and testing of the full range of the organisations products to tight timescales in accordance with the master production schedule.

Duties will include:

  • Manufacture of electrical and mechanical assemblies in accordance with build documents, these take the form of mechanical assembly drawings, wiring schedules, electrical schematics, Microsoft excel & word documents.
  • Complete all relevant quality checks and paperwork relating to the above builds.
  • Complete top-level build of the organisations products by incorporating previously built sub-assemblies.
  • Report any issues back to production management in good time and a concise manner so that corrective and preventive actions may be discussed with engineering.
  • All non-conforming parts must follow the RTV/NCR process
  • Be responsible for 5S & housekeeping of the production area ensuring standards are maintained.
  • Commission and test all products to pre-defined plans.
  • During the validation phase of new product development provide feedback on documentation and the ease of build.
  • Undertake any other projects and duties as requested and which are within the competence of the job holder.
  • Ability to work within a team as well as the ability to take ownership of problems and deliver solutions on time
  • To gain a thorough understanding of the organisations SOP’s and build up experience of a range of products.
  • Switch from one product to another when customer requirements or supply chain issues conflict with the production schedule.

 

The Candidate

  • Thorough understanding of our SOPs and build up experience of a range of products which will require efficient time management and organisation skills to ensure
    relevant documentation is completed while meeting quality standards
  • The candidate will ideally have an engineering background and 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role. Hands on experience of mechanical assembly processes would be an advantage.
  • The candidate will be educated to a minimum BTEC level 3 or equivalent A level in an electrical/electronic discipline. Other candidates will be considered with relevant skills and experience.
  • Efficient time management is required to ensure timescales are met as well as completing relevant documentation and daily housekeeping activities.
  • Ability to work within a team as well as the ability to take ownership of problems and deliver solutions on time
  • Excellent hand and eye coordination.
  • Capability to perform repetitive tasks accurately and for long duration.
  • Strong level of attention to detail that helps maintain accuracy and error detection.
  • A positive attitude and the ability to work effectively both within a team and independently.
