{"id":1120,"date":"2018-10-10T15:00:02","date_gmt":"2018-10-10T14:00:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jkrecruit.co.uk\/?p=1120"},"modified":"2021-02-02T10:21:10","modified_gmt":"2021-02-02T10:21:10","slug":"engineer-mechanical-or-electrically-biased-neath-30k","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jkrecruit.co.uk\/?p=1120","title":{"rendered":"Mechanical Shift Engineer, Ebbw Vale, South Wales, \u00a332,000"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"pl-1120\"  class=\"panel-layout\" >\n<div id=\"pg-1120-0\"  class=\"panel-grid panel-no-style\" >\n<div id=\"pgc-1120-0-0\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell\"  data-weight=\"1\" >\n<div id=\"panel-1120-0-0-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor panel-first-child\" data-index=\"0\" data-style=\"{&quot;background_display&quot;:&quot;tile&quot;}\" >\n<div class=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\">\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n<p><strong>Summary\u00a0<br \/>\n<\/strong>We are currently recruiting a Mechanical Shift Engineer for a large, well-established manufacturer based within the Ebbw Vale area of South Wales.\u00a0 The company have a large customer base, supplying various companies throughout the UK.\u00a0 The role is a shift-based position working a continental shift pattern including days and nights.<\/p>\n<p>They are currently seeking an Mechanical Engineer to join their Maintenance Team due to company expansion.\u00a0 The role involves working a continental nights\u2019 shift pattern 7PM \u2013 7AM.<\/p>\n<p>You will achieve a salary or \u00a332,000.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Role<br \/>\n<\/strong>The Mechanical Shift Engineer will work as part of a team in a busy and demanding manufacturing environment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Duties will include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Undertaking planned and reactive maintenance of the plant<\/li>\n<li>Effectively and efficiently responding to machine failures<\/li>\n<li>Troubleshooting, fault finding and repairing a range of plant equipment<\/li>\n<li>Assisting with general site services<\/li>\n<li>Upkeep of reports and records<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Candidate<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>HNC\/HND Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. (desirable)<\/li>\n<li>5 or more GCSEs (or equivalent) at A-C grade which will include English, Mathematics and Science. (essential)<\/li>\n<li>Time served mechanical apprenticeship. (essential)<\/li>\n<li>Counterbalance forklift licence. (advantageous \u2013 not essential)<\/li>\n<li>Experience in FMCG<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience in a BRC Certified workplace. (desirable)<\/li>\n<li>Machining and Welding (desirable)<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience reacting to mechanical breakdowns<\/li>\n<li>Hands on Approach<\/li>\n<li>Self-motivating<\/li>\n<li>Manage workload<\/li>\n<li>Good communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels<\/li>\n<li>Attention to detail<\/li>\n<li>Good timekeeping<\/li>\n<li>Be able to work both unsupervised and as part of a team.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent analytical skills<\/li>\n<li>Computer literacy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>JK Recruitment<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please be aware that we receive a high volume of interest for each of our roles and we cannot guarantee we will be in touch if you are not shortlisted for the position.
